Richard Serra is perhaps best known for his monumental steel sculptures. But it turns out that the artist, who died earlier this year at the age of 85, also made films and videos. Over a dozen of them, created between 1968-1979 (some shot on 16mm film) are currently on view at Dia Chelsea. Some of them first debuted in the Whitney’s 1968 show Anti-Illusion; they were short and filmed in little or no black and white. Others are longer, like a nine-minute film shot in 1975 while Serra was living and working in Portland, Oregon. It features a major bridge on the Burlington Northern Railroad on the Willamette River. The Bronx Bombers collaborated with NYON on a 49-piece collection for men, women and kids that debuted earlier this week. The heroic pieces, according to the brand, “are a quartet of varsity jackets — half with a wool body and leather sleeves and half modeled from 100% cotton twill — with a striped lining…a subtle nod to the most iconic team uniforms in the history of sports professionals.” NYON also partnered with New Era, a company that has apparently supplied Major League Baseball caps for over thirty years. There are 16 hat options – four 59FIFTY, four 9FORTY A-Frame snapbacks and eight adjustable 9TWENTY hats. – which are definitely a work at home. NewYorkorNowhere.com

The play, directed by five-time Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien, is described as a “portrait of a blossoming intimacy between two women from very different backgrounds as they navigate the complexities of identity, morality and the promise of reinvention.” . For nearly twenty years, Stark – the over 85-year-old carpet retailer – has collaborated with Italian fashion house Missoni for exclusive carpet collections. The latest offerings include nine available rug styles, five custom styles, and a “performance acrylic fiber” design that, they claim, “effortlessly combines elegance with durability.” As expected, they’re all colourful, vibrant and upbeat – potential game changers for a room.
